We got our Youth season off to a winning start today against a well organised and hard working Fenit Samphires team . The first 45 minutes are probably best forgotten as we didn’t register a shot on target and at times failed to put two passes together .
The second half was a much better team performance when you consider we were playing into a very strong breeze . The opening goal came from the head of Segun Duyile mid way through the second half with the second goal a great solo effort by Ryan Dolan in the last ten minutes . We could have added more to the score line but for some outstanding saves from Eoghan o Brien in the Fenit goal . Three points and a clean sheet is a good way to start the season but a lot more needs to be put into our performances if we are to challenge for trophies in the coming months .
Well done to Jack Kelliher who had his first start for the club but unfortunately had to be replaced due to an injury which gave Aaron o Keefe his debut for the club .
Special thanks to the Fenit Samphires manager David Staunton who help out when Jack was unable to continue playing, a true gesture of sportsmanship . Also thanks to all the parents who helped with the travel arrangements and who supported the team on a very blustery day .
