24 of our U9 players made the trip to Killarney last Saturday afternoon to take on Celtic. We had two teams in action over there.
Pat Doody’s team had a 2-2 draw in their first match. In fact, they scored equalisers in the last seconds of each half with Adam and Colin hitting the net. Their second match was full of goals with the Park going down narrowly 4-3. Abraham notched two goals with Niall scoring also.
Andy Fishers’ teams first game was was a tough encounter. After being a goal down at half time the Park hit back with goals from Cian resulting in a hard earned 2-1 win. In their second match they had a comprehensive 3-0 win. Leon with 2 great goals and a long range effort from Martin.
Despite the warm conditions, the under 9’s worked really hard and played some great football. Special mentions to Samuel, Philip, Conor, Austin, Evan, Dan and Graham. Their regular attendance every Saturday is paying dividends during these matches and they are going from strength to strength.
Our thanks to Killarney Celtic for their hospitality during and after the matches and we hope to have them as visitors to Tralee before the end of the season.
