There no place like Christy Leahy Park on a lovely sunny Sunday morning as it was today for the visit of Killarney Celtic.
Both teams were cancelling each other out with us slightly shading possession in the 1st 10 mins. Then the game burst into life in the 14th min when Fergal Maunsell hit shot that looked to be heading in to the top corner but the Celtic keeper made a good save To turn it over the bar. From the resulting corner Boysie headed over. Celtic then got in behind our backline only for Conor Hurley to save smartly with his feet.

The goal came in the 17 min when a long ball over the top forced the Celtic keeper out of his area and his clearance when straight to Ferdia o Brien who had the composure to take the ball and play 1-2 with Boysie and then stroke his 20 yard shot past the diving keeper. His first senior goal ,the first of many no doubt. The game evened off again but we had a  couple of good chances for Maunsell who blazed wide to the left on the 30th min and In the 36th min Ferdia had a chance to double his tally but his shot just flashed inches wide with the keeper beaten. 1-0 half time.
We began the second half on the front foot and should have put in a second when Michael Conway picked the ball up on the left went past 2 player squared the ball with david Courtney Ferdia and David McLoughlin one should have put the ball in the net but no 1 took charge and the ball was blazed over by Fonz. Courtney raced clear in the 86min with Maunsell in support he went in 1v1 with the keeper only for the keeper to come out on top on this occasion. In the 89min Celtic had a free kick on the on the right had side of the box it was a perfectly executed free that looked destined for the top corner but young Conor Hurley made a great save high to his right to keep the score line at 1-0. Well done to Ferdia who was the match winner and Conor who kept a clean sheet
Best on the day was everyone for the hard work and resilience they showed today. Man of the match was Ferdia
