This cup encounter between two of the top sides in Kerry lived up to its billing with end to end action. Park started the sharper and were the stronger team in the opening half. Park missed a couple of great goal chances in opening ten minutes thru Sean McGrath and Mervin Shalemba..Park took the lead on sixteen minutes thru Park midfield dynamo JR Tshikato from twenty yards as he turned sharply striking low to the keeper right just inside the post.

Celtic were awarded a dubious penalty on twenty eight minutes and Celtic goal keeper made the long journey forward to take the penalty only to drag his spot kick wide. Park again very dangerous on the break and should have extended their lead but again failed to punish Celtic. Parks Alfie Christie doubled Parks lead just before the break with a twenty five yard strike into the v of the goals, no keeper was saving it. Celtic to their credit lead by David Dineen and Darragh Lyne started the second half on the offensive and grabbed a goal back from a corner kick five minutes after the restart.
Celtic levelled on sixty minutes and it was game on. Both sides were now playing on the counter and again Park were guilty of missing two great chances. Extra time both teams battled hard and it was Celtic that struck with a late winner. Celtics Ryan Kelliher ,Peter O’Sullivan and Mike Lenihan put in a great shift and for Park Mervin Shalemba , Poga McCannon, Sean McGrath,James Sheehan, Conor Myers and James Rusk(capt).
