Munster League Champions Trophy 1st Round
This Sunday we carry the Kerry flag into the Munster League Champions trophy first round, when we meet the Desmond League Champions Broadford United at Christy Leahy Park at 2.00pm.
This is the second year of the competition and only the League winners from all Munster Leagues are entered, with a place for the winner in the ¼ final this is a huge game for the club .
We face a very hard battle against a strong Limerick side who have a good track record in major competitions in recent years. We have a score to settle in this game as we happened to lose to the same opposition in the FAI Junior Cup last season. From here Broadford progressed to the last 16 in the competition and also went to the ¼ final of the Munster Junior Cup.
We will have to be firing on all cylinders if we are to win this game but home advantage is a great thing to have. We have a side that has strength in depth and should be in with a good chance of winning this game if we play to our full potential and take our chances in front of goal.
Hopefully every one can make an effort to come and support the team in their first ever game in this competition and make the day one to remember for the club.
