Goals from Jakub Zlotocki (2), Niall Sertutxa (2), Thomas Burke (2), Jake Deering, Gearoid Fitzgerald and Dan Goggin gave Park a good start to their Kerry Cup campaign.
The young home side battled well and were only one down after 30 minutes. However Park’s Jake Deering then stole the show for the last ten minutes of the half.
Having set up the first for Jakub Zlotocki after nine minutes, Deering gave yet another outstanding cross to set up Park’s second for Niall Sertutxa and then scored a superb goal himself. It was almost half time when he got on the end of a great ball from James Rusk and calmly finished the ball past Celtic’s good young keeper.
When Zlotocki scored his second a minute into the second half it broke the brave resistance of the Killarney men. Thomas Burke, who played in goals in the first half, got the next two, one a superb free kick, the other a magnificent chip over the Celtic keeper and he then set up Gearoid Fitzgerald for a nice finish to make it seven. Dan Goggin showed his class with a tidy finish for number eight and Niall Sertutxa scored on the break to wrap up a convincing win.
Well done to all the lads for a fine performance and keeping their concentration throughout. We were solid at the back and patient when it was needed.
Well done also to the Killarney team and mentors for a very sporting game.
Thank you to Iñigo, Tina, Anne and Fiona for driving today. As always parent’s help is much appreciated.
